Book Marks DIY design #1

I wanted to make some more book marks after I made a batch for Alvia's pre school friends for the end of the year gifts along with some Dollar Store books.

I decided to use my Cricut again and pulled out my Create a Critter 2 cartridge and found an apple that would go with a stamp set from My Pink Stamper called School Days.

I decided to go with some Heavy Weight card stock from Hobby Lobby and the Avery Elle book mark die.

I am loving the fact that Hobby Lobby is taking their Heavy Weight card stock and adding more colors to it then just black, white, and cream.
Here is a close up of the nice texture this book mark die makes, I have two of them and I believe after time the texture fades, maybe its because of the pressure from the big shot.
I find it easier to test cut different sizes on plain white card stock.

Here I cut the apple out from sizes ranging 2 1/2, 2 3/4, and 3 inches.
Here is that My Pink Stamper stamp set called School Days.

I am using the Your'e the apple of my eye! stamp.

Also I am deciding on the size of the apple and where to place my stamp.
Ok I must admit I did cut these out from green and red card stock and glittered the red heart but I really did not like it so back to the drawing board I went.

I cut two apples, one from brown and one from an old Stampin Up Designer Series Paper stack, also used the same red card stock as the book mark.
I used Tombow Mono liquid glue to adhere the pieces, I also cut the top off the apple and then added it to the brown part.

I used strong tear tape to the back.  I knew one half would be hanging off so I did not apply adhesive to that half.
Using a stapler and some ribbon from my stash.

I tested some inks on a scrap of the red card stock and choose two Stampin UP inks in the colors Real Red and Baked Brown Sugar.
