Beach 12X12 Layout Alexis October 2015

Needing a jump start or kick in my but to get caught up scrap booking and project lifeing I started with my most recent photo prints and wanting to scrap lift this beach sketch I saw on Pinterest.

At the very end of this post will be links to the products I used if available, if not available I will still put the names of the products I used.

I am entering this Layout over at Scrapbook.com in the category Girls only.

I started out by printing out five of the same photo and cutting one down to just Lexi girl standing on the beach.  The other four I cut off her body and kept the biggest portion.

I matted them on some card stock with a border of about 1/4 inch all around.
I cut some coordinating card stock in colors from the same pack ranging from 1/4 of an inch to 1 3/4 of an inch.

I layed them out and trimmed them to the length I wanted.

Using regular tape runner adhesive to adhere them towards the bottom middle of the 12X12 white card stock.
When you can find these at Micheal's during their $5 dollar buy they are fantastic for backgrounds for scrap booking and they cut wonderfully in the Cricut Machine.

The only draw back is the texture so sometimes stamping takes longer to dry or I blot some ink off with a tissue.
The far two photos are taped down with regular tape runner adhesive the second inside photos have one layer of foam and the main photo has two layers of foam.
Using my trusty wax paper to align and make sure my thickers and letter sticker will fit I spell out my title.
I found the background was too white and had too much white space, so I used a linen stamp and some soft brown ink and stamped around the edges. I used a tissue to remove some of the ink from the stamp before stamping.
Here is a close up of what it looks like before I decided to add some ink blending to it with the same color.
Using an ink blender and the same ink I blended the lines to make them softer and bring the light brown ink closer to the photos.
Using a T-squared ruler and the end of the poky tool to align the title to make sure it is straight.
 Close up.
Finished Layout I am very happy with how it turned out.

I didn't do any journaling because I will have more photos behind this layout in a project life style layout that will tell the story of our beach day in San Diego California.
